Chamber Member Benefits
Raising Our Game
There are six key initiatives that the Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce will focus on:
- Making sure there is clear and effective communication through its new website and a dedicated section in that website focused on this program. The website will have links to the CWG, TIA, YCB and Sport Yukon Sites as well as keeping the business community up-to-date on events, issues and opportunities. The Chamber will get the domain rights to “ www.raisingourgame.ca”
- Because the CWG will be held in the winter the Chamber will work on a Winter Beautification Program to make sure Whitehorse shows its best side for he thousands of people and media who will be there during the Games.
- The Chamber will develop a program with its partners to Raise Our Game in the area of customer satisfaction and service offering initiatives and rewards for front line service people and recognition for the businesses involved in the program.
- The Chamber will host forums in order to work with the business community in setting up programs in order to target potential customers including athletes, team delegates, media, officials and volunteers. The Chamber will host luncheons and workshops to keep the business community up-to-date on the business of sports
- The Chamber will assist TIA and CWG Host Society in implementing their program of accommodations standards and help find suitable accommodations in the private home sector if required.
- The Chamber will host a conference in late 2006 to discuss such issues as the use of the facilities after the CWG, attracting major sporting events after 2007, discussing final preparations for the games in the business community and the potential benefits for the community from the business of sport.
The Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce will use all of its resources to help make the Canada Winter Games of 2007 a huge success.
